Marc
This may be a silly question, but I've just started using v9... so you'll have to forgive me . Where can I set the 'create in context' (as opposed to 'create at object level') to be the default option? I absolutely hate being spat out to the object level whenever I create new geometry.... urgh!
michael
Edit > Prefs > Objects and Geometry > Default Context Creation welcome to hell.
Marc
woo! thanks . My eyes have been trained to seek out the 'secure selection' options on that page and ignore everything else. Guess it's time to expand my horizons.
digitallysane
Also be aware that "Create in context" seems to break some shelf tools. So if a shelf item gives an error, try to switch to create at object level from the upper right menu of the viewport. Dragos
sibarrick
Its worth also going through all the new prefs, many of them have changed, so if you want to recreate H8 workflow it takes a bit of tweaking.
michael
also Show Display Operator vs Show Current Operator will produce different behavior esp with painting weights

I'm actually trying not to create my h8 workflow too much, that way madness lies. There are some things however that drive me up the wall.... this being one of them . sibarrick
Yeah I tried that, but slowly, slowly I find I have to reinstate the H8 way to work on heavy stuff efficiently. I did try honest
