cloudfx
Hi all, I just imported fbx file which I exported a single camera and a single geometry from maya 2008 unlimited. I am using houdini 9.1.244 right now. It take so long time like(6 ~9 sec) to save even though there are only one single cam and geometry that has only abour 1,000 faces. What should I look at and fix when this happens..? Thanks, -J
sibarrick
Are you saving on a network or local drive?
edward
$ hconfig -h HOUDINI_BUFFEREDSAVEHOUDINI_BUFFEREDSAVE When enabled .hip files are first saved to a memory buffer and then written to disk. This is useful when saving over the network from Windows 2000 machines, or other places where seeking to the network is expensive.
cloudfx
sibarrick : yes, I am saving the file in network drive. edward : Hi, Edward! So, "$ hconfig -h HOUDINI_BUFFEREDSAVE", is this like a expression or script that I have to type before I save the hip file..? Thanks,! -J

edward
For help on environment variables, there's some write up on the wiki under CustomizingHoudini
