wolf_cub_one
Nomad, No problem. Sorry, have not worked on this scene in awhile. Been busy with taking care of things and people not related to 3D. Just started playing with fluids again and hopefully will have something to show soon. cheers
wolf_cub_one
Been playing with fluids for about a month. I have to stop but wanted to show something. Sim time: 1 hour Writing out the mesh: 1 hour Render : 40 minutes Playing with using forces to push the fluid. The beginning, I used too much force but I adjusted at the end. There are issues with collisions but I have a fix for this. Please criticize and rip apart my WIP. Hopefully, I'll get back to playing with fluids in a few months. cheers flood_force.mov
itriix
Looking great. Do you by chance have a hip you could share of you're hallway flood? Otherwise could you expand on some of your basic setup values, like how large is that scene? particles or voxel based? my guess is particle based? but if it's voxel based, what size dimensions and res? How did you actually BEGIN the sim? -- meaning, do you have a large tank of water already in the scene, and then open a door that let's it all pour into the hallway? if not, then is it an emitter? hope that's not way too many questions for you thanks, and one more time, looks great, *oh and loving the water splashes with the horse too* Jonathan Edited October 6, 2009 by itriix
wolf_cub_one
Hey Jonathan, It's funny that you asked about my hallway flood scene. That's what I'm currently redoing right now. Been experimenting with H10 fluids. Hopefully, in a day or two I'll have something to show. With regards to your questions, right now my current scene is both particles and voxel based. Voxels for the the main water body and particles for splash and foam. Since I'm experimenting with trying to get a fast simulation, I usually have a uniform resolution between 80 to 120. As to how I start the sim, it depends on how much level of control that I need. Usually, I start with a basic cube as an emitter but I sometimes also have another object to be used as a pump to help with controlling the speed. Hope that helps for now. cheers Edited October 6, 2009 by wolf_cub_one
itriix
Thanks for the response. That's good info. Makes sense it was a mix of both voxel and particle fluids. Anyways, it's looking good. Can't wait to see more! Cheers, Jonathan
wolf_cub_one
Sim/Writing out mesh and all data: 1 hour I have some comp issues that I still need to fix, but here is a low res fluid sim of a simple flooding scene. flood_comp.mov
Zanozza
Couple of words from my side as from horse owner. Big mistake of 99% is the horse tail anatomy. The tail' hairs doesn't grow right from ass! They growing from horse dock! Take a look on this anatomy picture: Also huge problem with hips and loin is present. No one horse's back moving like on video. Check this picture: There should be something like that: Can you see the difference in hip movement? Good luck! Hey Vladimir, As I stated in my post the horse is not mine but was given to me by a friend to play with to test what Houdini can do. The horse didn't come with a tail so that's my fault. I wanted to test houdini's hair so I just stuck hair where I thought it looked right. Thanks for the animation example. cheers
