scale impulse from animated object hitting a passive object

Hi ,

I'm trying to wrap my head around a nice way to do this. I'm using a baked out animation to knock some (passive) debris around.

The impulse from the moving object hitting the debris is way too strong. Is there a way to directly scale down the magnitude of the impulse?

I was able to slow the debris down with an expression in the velocity and angular velocity attrs in an rbd state DOP but its not a great workflow.
