Nubnubs
Hey all, Just wanted to pick your brain on creating really nice smoke effects like this Awesome Smoke. I'm pretty good at the particle part of the simulation however the actual shading and rendering is defeating me. Would I use sprite rendering or use the particles with pyro? bealobo
I'd say those are fluid advected particles, myabe rendered as volumetric points?
Marc
Almost definitely rendered as points. Miguel explained a bit of his ink system on the SESI forums somewhere a while back. You can get a similar effect just by rendering as many points as your machine will handle, but you're going to need some custom rendertime code to really get that to work nicely. Mark Story's cluster system may work, I haven't tried it in a while so I'm not sure of it's current status. Cheers M
