I just got email from them. This is some text from it.

"1) We are embarking on a new method of delivery that might be able to cache media with encryption so that people on the train, bus, Ski Lifts, etc.. can take our videos with them. This is SOOO hard to figure out. We have hired some of the top software crackers to help us develop a system that protects your investment. Unfortunately, they keep breaking each others protection. As soon as they come to a final decision on what method is the BEST... we will be changing the encoding formats of our videos and notifying you of the new system beta. Its going to be a while, so dont hold your breath just yet.

In the mean time, we have been restoring the faster downloadable videos for all you that suffer from horrible internet service providers. So, please check back when you can, AND report to support@cmivfx.com any videos that your having trouble watching. Please dont send us anything about the free tutorials.... just the ones you paid for. NOTE: DELETE YOUR CACHE BEFORE LOGGING IN. we are making lots of changes."

What really interested me is that part: "In the mean time, we have been restoring the faster downloadable videos for all you that suffer from horrible internet service providers."

Is it mean what I think it mean :) . Anybody got some more info ?

PS. To Moderators: Could you please move this post to General Chat. Sorry and thank you.

I would take that to mean they are switching to videos that simply play faster in their proprietary flash video player. Hence the note to clear your cache. I guess it could go both ways though, but the thought didn't cross my mind while reading that.

i wish they had downloads..streaming sucks..

EDIT: I'm pissed coz i want the VEX SOP tutorials and the guys/guy at cmiVFX "dont sell DVDs"..(quoted from one of their email)..

Excuse me..If I'm paying $100 for two products I want them with me and not on a god damn server from where I'll need to "STREAM" it!! Why cant I just pay them some virtual money saved on some god forsaken server instead

If selling DVDs does not fit their business model (they did sell DVDs before though)..at least allow downloads..I would not want to stream for a quick reference..What if my service providers are down and I cant stream when I need it??

Sorry for ranting guys....needed to take it out :P
