I am working on a shot where a very viscous fluid hits a character. Everything is working great on the sim and giving me look I need, but I was wondering if I could add a "stretch limit" to it somehow. Like "if it stretches by x amount, break it up into smaller pieces" without losing the viscosity much or getting it back after the breakup. I am not sure what attribute I could reference for that (if there is one). Help me odforce, you're my only hope.

Hi there everyone. I have this very Unique issue that is both on Windows 10 and Linux (Mint 19.1, Ubuntu 18.04, fedora 29 and 30) where I will run a Simulation (Pyro, Particles or Fluids) and it will say Complete but only do 159/600 frames. The number of frames it dose is random and could change from sim to sim. System specs: CPU - Threadripper 2970WX (29 Cores - 48 Threads) RAM - 128GP of 2666 Corsair Vengeance LP SSD - 2TB, 1.7TB Free SPU - 1200W Cooler master Motherbaord : MSI Gaming Pro Carbon AC Houdini 17.5 Latest Build. Its not a Ram or CPU issue, I Rand them together at full Load in Prim 95 for 10 to 15 min and it was fine, no Hick ups or Heat issues. Things I have tried include changing the GPU from AMD to Nvidia (Yes removed the drivers to install Nvidias) Changed to an HDD, removed Performance boost in the BIOS, I reinstalled the latest Bios as well. I feel like its a Timing issue. Something is Causing the Sim to Complete, its like the write to disk is taking to long or something because if I lower the Res of the Flip sim, it will complete the cache but the result is to cores for a final portfolio piece. Please, Any Advice would be Greatly Helpful.

Hey guys! Got an issue with 17.5 while trying to copy packed geometry onto scattered points. When I try to copy any packed primitive on my scattered points in 17.5 build, everytime the point number goes over 100 or 200 points i cant see bounding box geometry of my packed prims in viewport (only points that I was scattering onto). Did anyone figure this out or encountered that problem before. Maybe it's a some kind of viewport optimization. Any help appreciated.

Hi there everyone. Hope you are all doing well. So for a white now I have had some issues with Houdini 17 and 17.5 fluids. I am trying to create a river sim, but when I cache out my sim using Hqueue or just a "cache in the backgroud", The sim just stops or fails. This morning I woke up and had a Fatal error: Segmentation fault. I am was on windows but it was not activated as I had a huge hardware update but but it could nto find my Linked Windows key or something. I have now switched to Linux and I am currently on Ubuntu. This is my First time on Linux so I do not know what I am doing lol. I cannot even get Hqueue to Restart so I have to reinstall it every time. I tried this one, but it didnt work. My Hardware CPU - Threadripper 2970wx Motherboard - MSI Pro gaming Carbon AC Ram - 128 GB Corsair Vengence LP SSD - Samsung 2TB Please find the attached output log and Diagnostic Info. job_6_output.txt job_6_output.txt
