hey everybody,

this is my first post in this forum ;)

but certainly not my first visit here, found some really useful tips and techniques already.

Anyway, i decided to contribute something to the houdini users and made a tutorial about the foreach SOP.

There is already a basic tutorial on this topic at the sidefx.com website, so i took this

a little bit further and included some expressions and different approches.

feel free to have a peek,

Going to check out the tut too :).

stamp() -> for numeric values

stamps() -> for strings

-edit: good stuff, watched it in kinda 5x the speed, but some fun little bits in there.

Good tutorial Manuel!

Really helpful to me. There`s only one thing I`m not quite understanding; it`s the diffrence between stamp() and stampS() expressions.

thanks for watching :)

hmm that's really no big deal, stamp() returns a number while stamps() is returning a string. In terms of this tutorial

/shop/stamps("../", "FORVALUE", 0) reads out the text string "mymaterial_01", "mymaterial_02" or "mymaterial_03"

(of course without the "")

got it ? :)

regards,

Manu

(and don't forget the exhelp in the textport ;)
