Somerville
Could someone help me, I'm desperate. I have a sub d model that looks fine in the viewport until I view mantra. I see strange geometry flying out to unknown areas. I have turned on 'points' and there appear to be no stray points. Is this a rendering but with sub d models? It sounds like the model itself, but I do not know where to begin. Thank you, Chris S (SARS free Toronto, 0 days.)
Marc
Do you have any displacements or shaders applied to it?

Somerville
It looks like there is a render bug or some kind of bug with poly cap in sub d modeling. cs

Jason
Marc taught me this once: Turn on your primitive number display and check for zero-area polys on your geometry. If you see two primitive numbers on top of each other, follow up with a Blast SOP and type the number of the bad primitive in there. Sometimes a Facet SOP with "Remove Degenerate" turned on can help too - or the Clean SOP. The SubD algo kind of freaks out with zero-area polys and its pretty easy to get em if you've clipped your geometry in order to redo the symmetry (say, clipping a head in half to mirror it) Hope this helps, J
