edward
Can you just adapt a regular procedural wood shader and put it into VOP COP network?
dyei nightmare
yeah thanks but is not for the purpose of using a wood shader, but to learn vex. there is a method in ice xsi with fractal methods that i am trying to do in houdini Edited July 21, 2010 by dyei nightmare
malexander
There are various noise functions in vex which can be used to create grain, especially when one direction is stretched out more than the others. That'd be a good spot to start experimenting.
dyei nightmare
weel i could either watch the guts of the wood shader, i think that will be the best way to understand the wood pattern at high level.
