jono338
Hi, is there a way to get the shaded model in the 3d viewer pane see through? So I can see my reference pics without going wireframe. Cheers. Jonathan.
jono338
So I take it from this avalanche of silence, that it's not possible to have see through geometry in the 3D viewer. How strange....

Marc
...er... I don't think such a thing exists. You could try wireframe mode and cull the backfaces (display options)... Not sure if that'll be good enough though. Cheers Marc
edward
I'll assume that you're currently in SOPs where you're modelling. Try these steps: - tab > SHOP Network - dive down into it and create a VEX Clay SHOP - in the OpenGL tab of v_clay1's parameters, set Alpha to 0.5 - delete the channels in under Diffuse Color and set it to a nice gray instead of the puke yellow color - go back up one level to your SOPs - append a Shader SOP and set the Surface parameter to: ../shopnet1/v_clay1 - turn on the display (blue) flag on it - with your mouse in the SOP viewer, hit 'd' to bring up the display options - under the Misc tab, turn on Transparency. close the window. - voila! The only bug I've found is that if you change the alpha or color of the shader, it won't update in the SOPs viewer until you go up into objects and then back down again. PS. The same can be done with sops set with the template flag turned on and template display set to shaded ... just make sure that you also turn off draw faded. jono338
You're a wizard. That's what I was looking for ... I'll play with it to get settings right. Thanks. Jonathan.
