hopbin9
Hi, I'm instancing objects onto points, but I can only see the points in the view port. Is there a way to see what will be rendered?
malexander
Not currently, no. You'd need to add an Object Merge + Copy SOP and put the display flag on the copy, while the render remains on the cop SOP points.
lukeiamyourfather
Hi, I'm instancing objects onto points, but I can only see the points in the view port. Is there a way to see what will be rendered? Like malexander said, use a copy SOP to view objects that would otherwise be instanced at render time. Though generally if there's enough of them (whatever the object might be) to need instancing at render time then you wouldn't want to see them in the viewport. A good practice is to create a bounding box or other simplified geometry to use for the viewport so it doesn't choke.
hopbin9
Ok, I guess figure something out with the Copy SOP. I need to view it to see if everything is position/scale/rotated correct, and also need to create a flipbook for previews.
