ok32
Hello, dear Comminity! I neeed your help. : ) You can see my problem in the attached image. Why does mantra shade it that way? How can I fix that? I know that the answer in simple but I couldn't find it.. Thanks.

It's really pretty hard to say. Use a Facet SOP and "post compute normals" option to fix them ? Edited April 4, 2011 by Hazoc

malexander
One thing that it could be is a shadow. The sphere mesh has smooth normal interpolation which gives it the illusion of being completely round, but underneath it's still a faceted polygon geometry. The hard edges of the polygon sphere can cause self-shadowing, especially at the silhouette edges of the sphere in light space. You can make the polygon mesh denser to make these shadows smaller, or use a primitive, NURBs or bezier sphere. If it's not a polygon-based sphere, then I don't know what those artifacts are
ok32
Of course! Self shadows.. Why didn't I think about it. Thank u guys. And yes, it's just a polygonal sphere. I forgot to mention that. Sorry. : D
