Vase/glass render problem

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

In the image below you can see an image I just rendered. Every piece of glass that I render has a ugly bottom (when it stands on the ground). How can I fix this? I think it has something to do because the glass is so close to the ground the light-bounces aren't properly rendered.

I hope someone can help me out!

Kind regards,

So I've increased the reflect and refract limit to 25 and used 3 million photons and the result is better than before! Although somehow it still looks a bit strange.

Here is a quick render I made. I really love my new Intel 2600K @ 4,9Ghz, rendertime was about 5 min. 8x8samples and 0.01 noise level :)

Depending on scene scale. Look into Raytracing bias. If your object is not that big and your bias is set to default it might make some strange stuff with thin refractive materials. As well tho if you set it too small it will also do strange stuff.
