eetu
Is it possible to do a volume lookup at render time using the volumeSampleFromFile and the op: syntax? The op: syntax needs the nodes inside Houdini. Picture mantra running on a renderfarm node, being fed an .ifd file, no Houdini installed. So, no. So I guess the better question is can I do a volume look up at render time? It seems volumeSampleFromFile isn't used in rop shop context? symek
Simdata won't work, but volume as bgeo works definitely. Promise. Did you converted camera space P into object space? See example (Render geometry ROP first). volsample.zip

3dbeing
Ok, so it's working except it throws an error 6 in the rop, right at the end. Obviously this is a problem for the farm. I notice yours does too. Do you get this error in the rop node when you render?
