TheUsualAlex
Hey folks, Is there any way to prevent the Rayed surface from poping/boiling with raying (Ray SOP) a polygonal object to a NURBS objects to control NURBS? Thanks, Alex
stevenong
Do you mind re-phrasing the question?
TheUsualAlex
Oopsy. May be it's about time to go to bed... Well, basically, I want to use a low res poly object to control high res NURBS objects - almost like SubD cage modeling. So I use the Ray SOP to do this. However, as I use Edit SOP to move the poly proxy model around, the NURBS surface will have slight boil on the surface. I couldn't figure out how to prevent this boiling even after turningup teh Sampling rates... Basically, it's the same thing as Maya's Wrap Deformer where you use one object to deform another objects. Or may be even like Softimage's Shrinkwrapping? Whew... I think I should go to sleep. Cheers, Alex
stevenong
I think you should be using a Lattice SOP instead of the Ray SOP. The Ray SOP's probably not the tool for what you're trying to do. Also, the popping is due to the animated/moving Poly cage.
TheUsualAlex
Well, Lattice is using a box cage, which will work well in certain situation. But what if I need to use a specific lo poly cloth model (which isn't a cube) to deform the high-res NURBS cloth model...? TheUsualAlex
Aieeek! I was looking at the wrong place. CurveClay did the job excellently! I also need to learn to use Creep. So, I'll take a look at it. Thanks you all! Cheers (with joy)! ALex
