deecue
Hey everyone, I'm hopefully going to be running a site soon that will host various houdini work i've done and other things. I was hoping I could get some opinions from people about what formats they feel comfortable with and can view on their machines. So far, I have decided to go with Quicktime (.mov sorenson 3) because of the number of users it seems to hold in both mac and windows areas. I also thought about throwing a windows media 9 (.wmv) version along with the QT one because it could possibly fit other people not running QT and i feel it's a great codec. So with those two in mind, does anyone else have input on it..? What about all you linux users out there (which is what i'm worried about the most since most of you all are)? what web video formats do most of the linux community view? Any thoughts on this would be great... Thanks, Dave
hoknamahn
Hummm... You can use ASF too or RealMedia.
George
I'm personally a fan of DivX. A codec is available for many platforms, and it compresses quite nicely (saving on bandwidth). Just a thought.
Jason
My vote is for Divx too. Pretty reliably supported these days.
