Follyx
Hi Is it possible to convert a painted and already scattered selection to a primitive for further use in volumes? already tried it with a convert sop from type "all" to "poly" but if I plug this into my isooffset, no volume will be generated. Thanks in advance
Annon
You can use volumeFromAttributeSop, or mesh the points and use an isoOffset from that. Or create a blank volume and use a volumeVOP with a point cloud lookup (same as volumeFromAttribute).
Annon
I've attached a quick file showing you the 3 different ways of doing this. SOP_volumeFromPoints.hip
Follyx
hi chris, fantastic, thanks a lot. as a beginner its sometimes hard to see the correlation of the nodes. not to mention the ignorance of the existence of themself.... learning, learning, learning and have fun with the new knowledge... Thanks a lot Olly Edited July 25, 2013 by Follyx
j00ey
Hi Christian I'm also getting to grips with volumes. Couldn't you also just use an ISO offset on the scattered points and set it to point cloud mode? Or is that not a good workflow for some reason? Thanks
Annon
Yeah you could do that as well. I tend to do it in VOPs, but have used all methods before depending on what takes my fancy on that day.
