Python Ldraw coding help

Hello clever Python coders!

I have started a project to import Ldraw (Lego digital models) into Houdini.

It is working well but for one problem: The facing of the Normals isn't working and is somewhat tricky due to having to keep track of a recursive function's state.

My intention is for this to be released free and opened source to Orbolt for all to enjoy!

In the meantime, I'm slammed at work until July and have no time to finish this. Anyone want to take a look? PM me or just email me and I'll send you the shtuff.

Cheers,

Peter B

Hey Peter,
Did you have any luck with it?)
It would be nice to have a tool like that, especially with USD and Karma!)
I found this, but it doesn't work for me for some reason

Hey Ivan,

Unfortunately, lack of time has prevented me doing much. I did get something vaguely working but that was quite a long time ago. Nothing worth releasing unfortunately.

The Lego to USD looks very interesting for sure!

If you really want what I did I can email directly to you, but that USD one looks like a better choice if it works :)

Cheers,

Peter B
