Skybar
I have an advected density field (VDB). Is it possible to calculate a velocity field only from this? I was fiddling with a Volume VOP, bringing in the current and previous frame of the density field and comparing those; but I couldn't quite figure out how to create velocity from it. Is it possible? Has anyone done anything similar before?
eetu
No idea whether it'd work, but thinking out loud; subtract the later frame from the earlier frame, and use that as the goal divergence field for a Gas Project Nondivergent DOP?In essence using the former frame as pump and later frame as sink. Do that in a DOPnet set to be historyless, and just do one round of solve. Hmm. Perhaps the Use Volume Velocity For Collisions option in Gas Build Collision Mask DOP could be misused in some way? Good luck
Skybar
Hmm interesting, I'll give that a spin for sure. I was kinda thought-locked on the Volume VOP and didn't think of DOPs at all. Cheers eetu
