Does these news influence SESI to use .NET in Houdini code base? I assume the benefits do not outweigh the costs/risks?

Oh wait, I misread that as VS 2012. Sorry, no, H14 will be vc11.

Ok, but VS 2012 we got right now in H13 too. It would be good to make it work with VS 2013, so people could compile without any problems like they have to right now, if they don't have full VS 2012.

I think will always be a requirement that you need to install VS on Windows if you want to use the HDK. For all practical purposes, there's no way to sync up so that Houdini is always running the latest compiler
