Dammerung
Hi guys a have a flip sim colliding with a terrain oddly enough when the flip comes to a rest y forms this streak like shapes that look terrible i have stick on collision masked so it only sticks to the ground might that be the problem, i also have a bit of viscosity, my terrain colliding volume is really smooth and the vdb is hi res enough and i can't figure it out any help would be greatly appreciated i've attached a pic of what is goin on Diego. pbarua
Try to subdivide terrain geometry to get smoother VDB. Post file so somebody can check exact problem.
Dammerung
hey thanks a bunch i'l try and see if i can post a hip but my terrain is pretty subdivided and smooth so is the vdb. the streak starts to happens once the fluid starts settling down on the ground
lukeiamyourfather
What are the settings for the collisions on the ground object? The default divisions for the volume collision are usually not enough.
eetu
H14 FLIP solver now has an option to set a different resolution for the collision-related fields on the FLIP Object DOP - might help here..?
TysonG
Houdini 14? I ran into a similar issue within the last week.....I decided to jump back into 13 and rebuild...no such issue. If you have 13 installed give it a shot.
Dammerung
Hey thanks a bunch i guess i'll try 13 because no matter what division size ,vdb res or subdivs i put into it it just keep doing that when colliding even if np viscosity or stick on collison are on
johner
Please submit a bug report if you can easily reproduce this, especially if you're seeing a downgrade in quality from H14 compared to H13. Or just post the file here and I'll take a look (but generally a bug report is better) Edited February 6, 2015 by johner
