Juzwa
Hi, So I want my sim to start at '-20 frame'. I set DOP Network Start Frame to -20 and Creation Frame od the Smoke Object also to -20. But the sim does not work properly. There is some calculation because it's very slow. But I can't see anything. Seem that I didn't set the sim properly. How do I set this properly to start at -20? paxsonsa
hmmmm, my quick test worked fine with that method. What is the result you expect versus the one you are getting? And what do you mean by slow? if time is an issue try this technique: -sim from the first frame (whatever that is) to the amount you want to preroll (20 frames), -then save that frame to disk (from the dopnet) as a .sim. - finally set the "Initial State" path to that .sim file. That will then be used as the first frame. Cheers!
bunker
Works fine with frame set to -20. A better way is to set your shot start frame to 1001 (plenty of room for preroll: 1000 frames) if you need 20 frames of preroll, change your timeline start frame to 980. 1001 is still the first frame you'll be using.
