magneto
Have you guys seen this? BUF released their inhouse software. They claim their 3d app is a complete solution and is procedural. http://bufsoftware.com
Sierra62
looks interesting, although they should think about renaming their renderer, Brender.... sounds like a typo, but I will still be checking this out when it is released. Thanks for the share Ryan. Edited March 11, 2015 by Sierra62
magneto
The UI looks a mix match of XSI, Max, Blender, some Nuke. I wonder if it's as mature as they say. 30 years of BUF vs 30 years of SESI master engineering
Sierra62
I would assume that if it would be able to compete with Houdini in the dynamics department they would have put more emphasis on its capabilities then they did. It took me a while to even find a place where they mention Buf's dynamic abilities, they would probably be similar to Modo's or Blender.
sebkaine
Well if you think Bstudio could compet with Houdini ... FX wise ... well it doesn't ! The best tool of the suite is Bprod it's a fantastic tool ! a masterpiece of efficiency and simplicity , i have never use a shot manager as good as this one ! michael
it's very cool to see this happening - but to be honest I'm most interested in "BBank"

sebkaine
The good news is Bview is going to be free and it's an excellent tool also. All the stuff around pipeline / organisation are very good - Bprod - Bmanager - Bview - BBank Bstudio is very cool for all the photogramettry / camera mapping stuff. But for FX sesi can sleep peacefully on their 2 ears ... Edited March 11, 2015 by sebkaine

lisux
Bprod looks awsome, I know about this package for years, and honestly I haven't seen anything close to it, at least in concept, in London ever.
