Juzwa
Hi, I need to do some reshaping of the volume inside the Volume VOP. But I dont have any density in my volume. The only field that is beeing used (is used to map the density in Arnold in Maya) is temperature. How can I import the temperature into to Volume VOP? Sierra62
You can use a import attribute and bring in temperature, I believe that should be a float value. Or you can use a bind and set it to temperature and export it with a bind export set to temperature.
Juzwa
I'm not sure it's working that way because I dont get any data out
magneto
Yeah Bind should work unless you told Volume VOP to bind everything as density.
loudsubs
If you are using a default shelf setup, it's possible you can't see the temperature field because it is being imported as an invisible field in the DOP import. Either change the visibility option on the import, or use a primitive sop with @name=temperature in the group parameter, then change the volume visibility. Also, middle mouse click, just to make sure that you even have a temperature field coming in. Using a bind or parameter vop in a volume vop allows you to import/ export any field, just be sure the type of field is correct, ie: float, vector, etc
edward
Volume Slice is also useful to inspect voxel values.
ryew
Another cheap solution is to use a scatter SOP to distribute varying amounts of particles through the volume to check its existence and shape (or pointsFromVolume SOP) Edited March 16, 2015 by ryew
