Yanana
Hi, I (think I) have a problem with my far clipping plane. My render doesn't catch the objects in the back while I do see them in my viewport. I am aware of the 1 to million ratio that I can't exceed, but my objects are about 70 units away so I don't see why that should be a problem. Help:(
Guest tar
How do you calculate the 1 to 1 million ratio?
Yanana
The far clipping divided by the near clipping. I the settings on .1 and 100,000. However, I have to admit, that for some reason it started working now:P I think I only changed the position of the arealight in my scene, but I had the problem for a longer time and with another shot as well. I still don't know what happened:/
Yanana
Correction: I have the problem with another shot as well
Guest tar
The far clipping divided by the near clipping. I the settings on .1 and 100,000. I don't think this applies to anything in the renderer tbh - Mantra should have a 64 bit Z-buffer which means has up to ~18 million-trillion possible values.... You should upload an example file please.
Yanana
Sorry for my messiness and I replaced my geo with spheres for convenience. copytest.rar Edited May 11, 2015 by kaliohnu
Guest tar
Just looks like your light isn't lighting up the far objects? Edit: Can you point out what is missing. Please check the alpha channel too. Thanks! Edited May 11, 2015 by tar
Yanana
Project's long done and everybody's happy:) I sort of fixed it in the end by just cleaning up my scene. I had the SOPs where I created the geometry still in the scene but hidden, and when I deleted them for scene readability purposes it was fixed.
