magneto
Hi, I am getting this kind of patterns in my pyro. I increased substeps slightly but didn't fix it. Anyone know why I am getting these and how to fix these? Thanks
jkunz07
Maybe try lowering CFL condition?
anim
seems like your source is not moving between frames, if there is no movement, substeps will not solve it - so if your source has constant topology, then Timeblend can help - if not then you can smear it using velocity along the full frame or timestep to avoid obvious stepping - if you are caching source before, make sure you cache subframes or maybe the the problem lies somewhere else, difficult to judge from the picture
TheDude
If you're super screwed and can't get good topo on your source for substepping I've found forcing a lil bit of vel into the presolve smudges the emission enough to get away with it, but its a bit of a gamble
magneto
Thanks a lot guys. All I did is used billowy smoke, added fuel in SOPs and enabled combustion and then set the sim to be 2D, and lowered the divisions. Then I got this pattern I attached the file. pyrosim.hip Edited May 20, 2015 by magneto
lukeiamyourfather
Thanks a lot guys. There's no attachment. It looks like insufficient substeps to me.
magneto
Sorry I always forget to press the attach button after selecting the button. Now attached.
anim
seems like increasing Pyro Solver/Advanced/Max Substeps does the trick
