Atom
Hi All, How do you copy and paste a color from one material to another? I have a FBX model which comes in with FBX shaders that have built-in colors. I want to convert all those shaders to Mantra shaders but preserve the initial colors that came with the model. I know I can copy and paste R G and B channel numbers individually but it would be nice to just grab a hex code or something in one step... fathom
you know you can right click on a parm name and copy that parm, yeah? that will copy the entire parm (all three channels) and then you can right click on a new parm to paste in a number of different ways. create channel references, paste the values, paste the entire channel, etc. if you do this a lot, tho, you might consider some kind of shelf tool/python script you could run on a set of nodes to create new surface nodes from fbx materials -- maybe even removing the fbx material and creating the new material with the same name as the fbx one. Atom
Ah, thank you. I was right-clicking on the color swatch itself, not the word "Color". Now I see the Copy Parameter menu option.
FR3D
there is something really nice in houdini. stay over the color swatch and hold middle click (wheel down) and while you hold down you can pick any color on your screen.
