Gubkin
Hello everyone, I have got a model in a T-pose and a point cache for the animation. I have setup that in houdini using a point VOP but I have no idea how to fracture the character and for the pieces to follow the animation. Here is an example of what I want to do: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I managed to do it with a clothcapture + clothdeform but its really slow, is there any other way to do that? Gubkin
Thank you for this link, some really cool stuff there although not what I needed because I am using a point cache to apply the animation and therefore I can't apply it after I have fractured the geometry as in the example in your link. After the research I've done I think clothcapture + clothdeform is the way to go, I couldn't find any other way.
Juraj
Hi, I recently used this technique (check attached file). It might be faster than cloth capture + deform. It worked well for me for most cases but sometimes it went wrong (when I had extreme deformations and even cloth way did not work), then I used wrap deformer in Maya which did the trick Juraj jt_fracture_deformed.hipnc
Gubkin
Hey Juraj, nice setup I will have to try it in my scene, thanks!
