JLyddon
Have you tried copying all your nodes over to a new houdini file. Somehow I got a corrupted file from simply trying to apply some noise to a cube, whenever I put down any node houdini would crash immediately. Hope this helps
Atom
I have experienced Houdini crashing on low end machines that do not meet the minimum requirements. You need a graphics card with at least 2GB of ram. Revisit the minimum requirements on the SideFx website. One thing you can try is to press the D-KEY to bring up the display options. On the Effect TAB turn off Materials and save that as the default. Houdini tends to crash when it tries to do graphic operations that exceed the hardware capabilities. undermoonsolo
Thanks a lot for your replies. JLyddon, I don't think it has anything to do with the file, I just created a new scene and create everything from scratch, it&%

Federico
Did you already used houdini in the past or this is your first time? (just to understand if worked fine until now) Did you performed overclock on your cpu? How much ram do you have?
undermoonsolo
I've been working with Houdini for more than 4 years. But for the computer that had problem, yes,it's the first time for Houdini to run on it. I have 4G Ram on my computer. And I don't think that I've ever performed overclock on my CPU. Edited March 8, 2016 by undermoonsolo
