art3mis
As far as I can see the results seem identical in both Render view and when rendering in MPlay. Can any Houdini experts explain the differences between the 2 rendering methods and when to use each?
carlo_c
Mplay is a stand-alone image viewer, I render to it when I want to scrub through a sequence for flipbooks or to check a couple of frames for flickering. I'll use it on it's own too to check and/or convert an image sequence. I tend to use the render view if I'm doing something that requires constant iterating of the same frame or small region like creating a material or setting up lighting http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/mplay/_index
