Hokmah
I'm trying to make a little of disintegration effect for my current project which you can see here: pass: test2016 VIMEO At the end of this flip you can see the red circle in the corner and this it this moment in which I would like to push my particles away from my surface. Any ideas what is the best way to do that? Particles are advected by smoke. I can upload .hip here but it will also need my 50mb .abc of animation and 2gb smoke cache so.. tony
If you just want to push particles away from the surface you could use a pop attract. Drop one down in your pop network, set attraction type (under the goal tab) to "points", set the sop path to point to your source geometry and Force scale (under the force tab) to a negative number. To make it only happen when your red circle appears at the end, just key the force scale parameter.
garf
You could set up a SOP solver in your DOPnet that takes the normals from your emission surface and attribute transfers them onto your particles having converted them into velocities.
