benne5
Hi Everybody, Can anyone tell me why when I polyextrude a tube and voronoi fracture it the pieces reach all the way into the interior of the tube instead of cutting only as deep as my extrusion? Please see attached image and .hip file Thanks! extrusion_voronoi_issue.hip
Atom
Try turning off Create Inside Surface on the Voronoi node.
Yon
Yea this is the worst part of destruction, getting it to fracturing correctly.. Its created by the inside faces, if you disable create inside faces you wont have the problem, but obviously everyone needs the inside face.. Try use the clean sop, make sure your model has depth (extrude),is watertight and has clean and simple topology. Always use the voronoi fracture points node and increasing impact radius and volume resolution can help. The model has to be a certain way for the voronoi node to work correctly, but no one has really outlined these conditions, its kind like rotoscoping - there is no condition you have to meet or rule or objective..you kind of have to beat on it until it works most annoying part of fx
benne5
I figured it out. I needed to check on the "output back" parameter on the polyextrude node.
benne5
Yeah, agreed. The worst part is the set up.
