sanostol
Hi, I created a attribute and want to paint it with the PaintSOP, but I can not see an option to tell Houdini to paint the custom Attribute instead of color and alpha. What do I miss here? I try to paint my scattering distribution on a surface. The manual tells me that I can paint any attribute. By the way I'm on the beginning of my trip into Houdini, coming from a XSI background. I'm trying to recreate something like weightmaps in xsi, but not to go an xsi way in houdini, just to see how the different nodes and components in Houdini work together. cheers Martin PS: my network looks like this: attribcreate2(DENSITY) -> paint -> scatter and in the paint node i want to modify the DENSITY
edward
In the Paint SOP parameters, find Override Color. Enable it. Replace Cd with density. Er, what are weightmaps? I get the feeling I know what it is but just not the XSI jargon.
DaJuice
What Edward said. It's really not neccesary anymore but I made a pretty jpg so I have to post it! Small tip.. it's often a good idea to put down a divide sop before your scatter (to triangulate the geo). It can avoid problems with the distribution. sanostol
Thanks for the help. Sorry for xsi slang here, did'nt knew it better. A weightmap a simple Pointattribute with a scalar value. But it seems to me that houdini has much more options here. Martin
