Custom AOV with V-Ray ?

Hey, I'm going through this post again because I'm trying to add an AOV set from an attribute. I'm trying to create an fx_rgb pass, based on particle trails ID, but I can't figure out how to do so. 

I tried using a vray extraTex and using my attribute as a texture, by connecting a V-Ray user color with my attribute written in it like so.

The result I get isn't what I have in my viewport. I never used v-ray to create custom AOVs based on an attribute so I'm really open to suggestions.
