art3mis
Explored quite a few setups but before I make assumptions wanted to get feedback from those more experienced If you have a single piece of non-deforming geometry that has to collide with moving smoke there are 2 main options in how you construct the sim using a Smoke or Pyro Solver. 1) If the geometry is also static you would feed it into a Static Object DOP followed by a Static Solver DOP and then merge this AFTER the Smoke or Pyro Solver. or 2) If the geometry is moving and or rotating you would source it as VDB using a Source Volume DOP with Initialize set to Collision. This in turn is then fed into your Smoke or Pyro Solver. Edited October 31, 2019 by art3mis
kleer001
Yup, that sounds right. Best to do a quick proof of concept first though, to double check.
