scuy
1 st step , render geometry with polar projection. 2 step , map to 1st step texture to sphere. then ,near y axis texture is broken . If i changed sphere resolution to higher , still bad result. Dose anyone know solution ?? or this detail is limit of Houdini algorithm (projection and mapping ) ??? I've attached test fip file. Thank you. 1_tes.hiplc
nuki
uv is a vertex attribute so yeah - the geometry resolution has an impact. Press space+5 in the viewport to switch to uv view - your coords are outside the 0-1 range which might cause issues when baking. I suspect thats the issue as with larger faces the jaggedness of the boundary is more pronounced. Edited November 30, 2020 by nuki
nuki
thinking about it again, switching to a 'polygon mesh' sphere should fix the seam. maybe also drop down a uvlayout sop to fit the uvs 0-1. cant test baking as i dont have redshift unfortunately. scuy
Dear nuki Thank you advice. You are right , uv is over 0-1. so , fixed ad type : polygonmesh , and adjust uv 0-1 , it went well. Thank you good solution!!
