jjstanley
Hi, I need to create an underwater effect of murky water with the rays coming through from the surface. Do any of you have an idea of the best way to go about this?
Lukich
There was a thread on that here a long time ago. Basically, you need to create an i3d cloud and send your light through it.

jjstanley
That is the direction I am am having the best luck with alright. Is there a way to make all the rays go at the same angle though. I am using a cone light with a projector map that is fed by a Noise COP and the effect is very nice but the rays still look like they are coming from a spotlight. I have made the cone angle very small and moved it far away and I think I can live with the results but wondering if there is a way to make the rays parallel? Many programs have an Area light which does this but I can't find any way of doing it in Houdini.
