You may also not know that you can import images directly from COPs into texture maps for shaders using a special syntax in your texture map fields.

op:/img/img1/file1

... will import the image generated by that COP into Mantra and render with it.

Caveat: Be aware that these images are not filtered (they're in pic format internally, not rat); so a high-frequency textures may buzz at a distance.
