photex
Hi folks, Anyone happen to know what happened to drqueue.org? Is drqueue dead now? That would be terrible as I've been laboring to adopt it here at work. If it's gone then I suppose we'd have to start looking for another alternative. bummer. _chip
Marc
No idea... perhaps the site is just down? There looks like there's been some activity in the last 3 months on some other sites (freshmeat, blender etc.)

He is not sure about to continue the project because nobody is donating any money to the project, so he is spending a lot of time developing it but without any refound, and this must be very frustated, specially because there are many studios and companies using the tool, but almost no one help to develop it. So maybe it is abandoned or he is waiting for some response from the users to decide to continue or stop it.
symek
I don't want to say anythig about DrQueue it self as I used to use it for a while and it's nice piece of software but in general the time of such tools is finishing as everyone can prepare their own solutions with high level languages and freely avaliable network technologies which makes these task much more easier the even few years ago. Fully parallel, clustered system in ruby or python it just a matter of days nowadays. Of cource nothing replace years of evaluating well designed software but as to render managers /pipeline tools dynamic solutions can really rocks... maybe this is a reason why people left they interest in drqueue? On the other hand I've read somewhere that it's still in use at ILM... or other "Pirates" company... strange... rather strange... sy.
