I think that book is meant a bit more for people who have some experience with python...

the two that I always hear about are:

Yes, as Michael mentioned this book is for people who can code. But at the same time, there is no better way to learn codding as reading someone's code. This book is brilliant source of snippets. Worth to keep it around your desk.

I second that. Novice to professional + Python cookbook is the combo I like.

Don't have the pocket reference one, but according to the amazon reviews it's good, but lack of index is an issue.

I can highly recommend this one! Very readable, which is unusual for a computer book :)
