Marc
hey guys Houdini9.1 seems a lot slower on my fedora 9 partition than my windows one as far as the viewport goes. Is there anything I should know about linux nvidia drivers to get some more performance out of them? Thanks Marc
malexander
I've heard rumors of the latest Nvidia linux drivers being slow WRT OpenGL. I'm using 100.14.19 on Debian with an 8800GTS, and it's running pretty quick. You might want to try downgrading, if possible.
cellchuk
I'm running Ubuntu 7 on my MacBookPro 3rd Gen. which has 8600_GT. It seemed ok so far.
vmuriel
Quadro FX 3500 - Ubuntu 7.10 - driver version 100.14.19 - works like a charm. In this post, you can see some xorg optimizations. http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com...00+linux+driver
Marc
thanks guys I'll check what driver version I have and fiddle with the xorg.conf. I don't think envy works on fedora, but there might be something else out there . Cheers M
