Sorath
hey there.. i've mp-pbr'd the mighty classroom scene with houdini 9.5 c&c welcome cheers. Bastian

dbukovec
I meant to see the settings Anyway, what are rendertimes on this baby? and what kind of lights have You used?
Sorath
there are some arealights on the outside of the windows.. a big white sphere around the scene and that's it.. just bounces and 2 hrs rendertime (i know now the scene isn't that fancy anymore ). all the rest is shading and post. i've rendered the scene with micropolygon pbr due to some issues with ram management using just pbr.. settings were pretty high.. so was completely noise free - i've added some grain again in post to get a better texture on the walls. cheers B. dbukovec
how many bounces did You set? 2 hours seems very reasonable for this kind of render with PBR.
edward
Cool! I especially like what you did with the floor. There seems to be some missing "copper" material assignments on the hanging lamps though?
Sorath
i think i used 3 bounces .ooh, did i already mentioned that i rendered on an octacore? what do you mean with missing copper? i didn't textured/shaded the scene exactly like the reference on cgtalk.. Nice work:) I was wondering if you attempted to accelerate your rendering with View-Dependant Photon Maps? I'm curious if it'd work well for this scene...
