  1. HDA | PolyExpandPlus

Houdini tool that expands on the functionality of polyexpand2d. Allows you to create detailed bevel profiles from polylines with clean, non-intersecting topology. I built it while trying to create a procedural gothic tracery system. I liked the topology created by polyexpand2d, but the divisions parameter and edgedist attribute just wouldn't let me get detailed enough bevel profiles. It would be great if sidefx could wrap something like this up into the polyexpand2d node itself as a third output option (eg. offset curves | offset surfaces | bevelled). I hope someone finds it useful mt_polyExpandPlus_1.0.hda
  2. Hey guys, how can I have some beautiful round edges on an extruded logo? It doesn't work at all with polybevel Here's how I'm doing it, the scene file is also attached Thx! Logo.rar
  3. Bevel limit?

Hey magicians, I wonder if there's a bevel limit function inside Houdini? Thank you!
  4. Hey friends, for me as a beginner in Houdini it's complicated to understand what Houdini tries to tell me. Maybe someone could help with one sentence. I'm simply modeling for training purposes and try to make some parametric holes into a curved surface. Cylinder+Sphere -> extruded with back -> tubes intersecting! The Tubes intersect with the geometry as I want them to. It's also possible to add and decimate the number of cutted holes by simply adding rows to the connected geometry. So far so good. But in the next step I try to give the cutted holes a bevel at the edge. Houdini shows up an error! What does this error mean? How can I achieve beveling an edge when working with parametric models? I tried to convert it into a vdb but the resulted mesh looked terrible! Cheers, Sebastian
