  2. Hi, i'm using an api whitch uses async and awake calls (i'm not that familiar with threading) - the problem is that these calls are stopping/blocking my whole houdini interface from working I'm connecting houdini with discord by import discord token = "xxxxxxxxxx" client = discord.Client() @client.event async def on_message(message): print(message.content) messages = await channel.history(limit=123).flatten() if message.content.find("hello") != -1: await message.channel.send("hi back") client.run(token) but this blocks my whole houdini application - the python script is running smoothly in the background (and works) Hope you can help me! - really desperate at the moment that this is not working if it i helps: discord api is using asyncio to work with threads
  3. Hey guys, I made a discord for anyone who is into filmmaking, vfx or 3D, for example an editor, character artist, concept artist, fx artist, animator etc but who would like to collab with others to make a mockup production. Mainly this is intended for students and others who want to practice but also to get a portfolio piece. Right now we still growing since I created it yesterday but if it sounds interesting to you here's the link to it: https://discord.gg/dMJhvsu
  4. Hello, I figured I would cross post this link for the folks that use Slack as an alternative to nodeway's Discord or the Odforce IRC. Tech-Artists.org is similar to Odforce.net in many ways, but they traditionally cater to the gaming community with multiple software as opposed to features/commercials and houdini. There is a channel #houdini where you can ask real time Houdini questions. Tech-Artists.Org Slack Signup
  5. Hello everyone! I created Discord server for Houdini => https://discord.gg/b8U5Hdy <= called Think Procedural. There are already couple of people there + some SESI guys are lurking there too. We also got custom BOT. It's still in Beta mode, so some things doesn't work, but the most important functionality is already there. The goal of creating this server is to bring Houdini closer to game developers. Around the corner there is a UE4 server with more than 1000 users and EPIC staff. There are also Unity/VirtualReality servers and the biggest from the all, GDL (Game Dev League) with 1300 online users. If you are interested in using Houdini for game development or any type of graphic activity, join us and spread the word. Once in a while I will be bumping this topic so that everybody would get the memo. See you!
