Hello everyone, setup is simple. I have 2 spheres and 1 ground. I set rbd configure to not collide spheres with ground. It works. BUT when I glue ground and sphere, rbd configure does not work! It must be bug or something, does not make sense? Question 2 is: How can I NOT collide between (big sphere - ground) AND (small sphere - big sphere - ground) ? collision and glue issue.hip

Hi everyone I am battling to remove a strange artifact showing of a dark dot and sometimes a dark line when compositing the emission layer in Adobe after effects and Davinci Resolve I have attached the simplified houdini file with the sky texture and its ready to render to see where the problem is So, I render the following AOVs from Houdini 18.0.532 using the latest redshift 3.0.27 I render the following aovs as exr: beauty_aux.exr diffuse.exr emission.exr gi.exr reflection.exr refraction.exr specular.exr z.exr The sky image is an exr which I applied on a redshift dome light inside houdini I follow the guideline on how to composite all these aovs into a final image in Adobe After Effects and Davinci Resolve and i place the layers in the following order: diffuse, + gi + specular + reflection + refraction + emission The emission aov ends up showing a dark spot especially arounnd the area where the sub is at its brightest sometimes it even shows an entire dark line again around the area in the image where the sun is supposed to be at its brightest this artifact only appears when I switch my project setting to run on 32bit per channel and even when i try to load the beauty aov exr, i get the same dark spot so this issue is not just limited to the emission aov Then moment i switch the project to run on 8bit per channel, the dark dot and dark line artifacts dissapear but then in Adobe after effects, i end up losing the ability to bring back the sky colour and details, the image ends up looking flat and even when i adjust the curves on the colours, the image remains flat looking Thank you __Sky_Artifact.rar render.zip

Hello, I've been having an issue with rendering fur in H18. As you can see in the attached image, the fur is glitching out and is transformed to the origin. There is no issue with the hair in the viewport but the problem comes up in the bucket as well as ipr render. I've tried turning off individual nodes in the hair generate node but no luck. If I create a new hair generate node the problem is fixed and If I revert to a much older saved file the problem is fixed but I'm hoping there is a simpler fix. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi!! I'm a VFX student new to Houdini and i'm having some problems to render a "stone" shader because some of the stones in my displacement show some kind of glitch / flicker. I'm rendering in mantra in a 3-5 samples setup, I've tried to put normal node and it make the same error. My shading setup for the displacement is "Zbrush displacement map + 2 stone textures with some fits + uv noise + uvxform, all of this connected to color mix that goes to displacement" my zbrush displacement is 8k resolution in tiff. When ever I dive into my dop network, this weird piece of geometry shows. I have no idea what it is or why it's there. You can see in the second picture I hid everything but it still shows. The last picture is what happens when I try deleting it. It doesn't show when I exit the dop network. What can cause this? It happens when ever you add a pyro solver to a rdb simulation. In my included file, go into the dop network and you will see the same problem. The last photo is what it should look like. Thanks why.hipnc

Hey, What is up with these white patches? Do i just need to turn down refraction or sim at higher res? Thanks
