CMIVFX - Connections tutorial

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I am really happy to announce my first tutorial produced for CMIVFX. The tutorial is about using Houdini for motion graphics and data visualization, focusing on the design trend of drawing connections between points of data. I think there's something in there for everyone to learn - not just people only interested in blowing stuff up :)

I hope those of you who buy the tutorial will find it informative and make some really cool stuff! I am very excited to see what people will do with the tools they make from this tutorial.

CMIVFX's site explains more than I will here:

Thanks Adam, really love your tutorials in your site, specially the one using houdini for text animation! Hope you come up with more!

By the way, talking about text in houdini, what is your workflow for getting pretty bevelled text in houdini?

Thanks!

i watched this today.

well done adam.

at the end, you mentioned a future title focusing on rendering. i'd love to see that.

congrats!

Thanks! Yeah, I mentioned that the actual how-to's of shading and rendering were a bit out of the scope of the tutorial. CMIVFX has a shading and rendering tutorial on there already. Have you checked it out? For the graphics stuff usually a constant material from the material gallery is all you need. The ramp material is also pretty useful.
