Macha
Thanks to Jeff for this. I've struggled my way through this for quite a while and it's nice to see it laid out so clearly and concisely now. More of it please! Sifis
Excellent tutorial. Exactly what I needed, as microsolvers were always a kind of a mystery. The only frustrating thing was that constant zoom of the capture software that didn't let us see what was happening at key areas of houdini. ryew
Excellent tutorial. Exactly what I needed, as microsolvers were always a kind of a mystery. The only frustrating thing was that constant zoom of the capture software that didn't let us see what was happening at key areas of houdini. I absolutely agree. I really appreciate SideFX posting the material but I thought the constant, extreme zooming was unnecessary and worse, there were numerous instances when the repeated zoom-ins were focused on a non-essential part of the screen (such as the play button or a DOP/SOP node icon) while parameter changes and their effect were occurring somewhere off-screen. We were constantly missing out on valuable parameter changes and visual feedback on the viewport that demonstrated what effect the discussed changes were having. It was frustrating knowing I would have to go back and try working along in the scenes to figure out what was happening rather than just knowing what was happening while watching the video on its own without the playbar controls or a parameter field occupying the whole video screen. Still plenty glad for the audio though
abvfx
Yeah bit of a boo-boo with the auto zoom but this is by far the most valuable insight ive had into fluids. Steven Tucker's series was excellent and exposed me to the higher level controls but this and brought me a greater understanding of whats going on under the hood. I really hope the you are recording the cloth evening. Edited May 29, 2012 by phrenzy84
