jungjaehwa
Hi. Everyone! The modeling date exported from 3D Max. I want to transfer the vertex attribute "uv" to the point attribute "uv". What is this solution? Pleas let me know. modeling_data.zip Edited January 4, 2013 by jungjaehwa
Hello world
attribpromote sop?
anim
be careful about that process, it will mess up your uv's if the polygons are fused, since thereis no possibility to have separate polygon islands for continuous meshes as point uvs
jungjaehwa
Thanks all. @Vig : Thank you. I actually was trying to use "attribpromote SOP". But as you can see this post attached the file, that was result.^^ @ Tomas : Thanks a lot always. Good tip. I want to more talk to its issue. anim
that's exactly what I was talking about since each point can store just one UV position it doesn't allow for split polygon islands that's why you can have vertex UVs since each point contain one vertex per each neighbour face why do you want to promote it to point? note, that in max the UVs were vertex attribute as well
jungjaehwa
OK. Tomas! I am going to prepare the hip file what I want to make and why I want to promote uv to point.^^
lukeiamyourfather
Leave the UV on the vertex, that's how it's supposed to be like you've already discovered in post #4. I did the same thing a while back in trying to move the UV value to the point, then things break. Doh!
jungjaehwa
Hi, Luke. You are right. I have a animated character and want to make breaking that with "voronoisFracture SOP". But I have a problem that it makes not sticky break mesh each frame. That is why I ask it question. For more talk about it, I will prepare the hip file. I hardly catch a cold so get some rest. Please keep my topic. Have a nice weekend. Thanks again.
jungjaehwa
Hello again. To talk more this post, I have prepared a hip file. The hip file has including the reason I want to transfer vertex uv to point uv. There is a character. I want to break with voronoiFractureSOP. But I have got a issue in voronoiFractureSOP. Each frame, It has a different result. What is this solution in order to befix fractured object? hip.zip
anim
UVs will not help you in this case, neither area attribute or any other trick to get consistent pointcloud from scatter sop since even consistent pointcloud will fracture mesh slightly differently in each pose but you can do one very simple thing store animated positions as an attribute on a static geometry fracture that static geometry (that attribute will be interpolated to pieces) use that attribute as point positions to get it back to life here is the example fracture_01_fix.hipnc Edited January 7, 2013 by anim
jungjaehwa
Tomas! That's pretty amazing. Thanks all. Fabulous idea. I wonder how you've got the its idea. Cool~ But I've a simple question. As you can see attached image, no shared normal. I have no idea about this solution.
