hermesnoel
I am new to Houdini.I can't for the life of me figure out what is causing my flip fluid to flicker like this. Has anyone seen this before or does anyone have an idea what might be causing it?http://vimeo.com/87864121 A2_exported.hipnc

pezetko
From the video it looks like meshing issue (to big changes from frame to frame in topology of fluid mesh).
hermesnoel
Thanks for the response! How would you suggest I fix that problem? Edited February 28, 2014 by hermesnoel
pezetko
Try to tweak parameters of the mesher. Maybe you can add more particles, so it has more source to create more stable topology. I couldn't run your scene properly (some missing files in setup). You can smooth the mesh after meshing or freeze the parts where is too much jittering (with help of timeshift/blend). lukeiamyourfather
There also might be insufficient substeps in the simulation to resolve the motion of the fluid properly, it looks like there's only one or two substeps (usually not enough). abramov-cg
Hermes can you organize your scene a little bit better. And upload clear version. There a lot of links to your local hard drive. And its hard to understand what goes after what.
